About

“What are your passions?” my friend’s companion asked with an urgent tone.

“Well, I love to grow in and share about my faith in God,” I replied. “And I love the outdoors and sports,” I added.

“You need to start a podcast, to share about your faith,” he continued, “and you need to start a YouTube vlog, to record and share your outdoor adventures.”

“I’m not sure about a podcast,” I said. I don’t really enjoy preaching.”

“Well, you could do a blog instead, but some people like to listen to what you have to say while they are driving,” he replied.

In Dr. J. Robert Clinton’s landmark book, “The Making of a Leader,” he writes that one of the processes that God uses in directing leaders is what he calls “double confirmation,” where God repeats a message to make sure you know He is speaking. I already had been contemplating and planning to start a blog, and this encounter confirmed to me that God was in fact putting that on my heart and wanting me to start moving forward with it. He was in a way pulling back the curtain and showing me some of what He wanted me to do as I approach my retirement years.

So with that I am now launching this blog to share some of the many spiritual lessons and insights that God has taught me over the many years of walking with him. I hope that my readers will be blessed and encouraged by them!
